The concept of International Children’s Day was first introduced at an international conference on the welfare of children held in Geneva, Switzerland, in August 1925.
The International Conference on the Welfare of Children, held in Geneva, Switzerland, brought together child-friendly representatives from 54 countries to adopt the Geneva Declaration on the Protection of Children. In the Declaration, issues such as the spiritual well-being of children, the relief of poor children, the avoidance of hazardous work for children, the opportunity for children to earn a living, and how to save children were all discussed with great enthusiasm.
Since this congress, the governments of various countries have established “Children’s Day” in order to inspire children and make them feel happy and joyful on the one hand, and to draw the attention and care of society on the other.
In November 1949, the Executive Committee of the Women’s International Democratic Federation (WIDF) held a meeting in Moscow and decided that June 1 of each year would be International Children’s Day, a holiday for children and adolescents around the world.
Children are the future of the country and the hope of the nation. Creating a good family, social and learning environment for all children, so that they can grow up healthily, happily and happily, has always been the goal of all countries in the world, and the annual “June 1 International Children’s Day” is a holiday dedicated to children.
